Economic boost for Bath as students return to the city

Bath's annual intake of nearly 20,000 students, expanding the city's population by over 20%, descended on the Roman City this weekend. Students from all corners of the world, from California to Cologne and Singapore to Stockholm, arrived, bringing a much-needed boost to the local economy.

A recent study by the Higher Education Policy Institute estimated that international students are worth £28.8 billion to the UK Economy.

Meeting the needs of the growing student population and the demand for quality accommodation saw the opening of Eagle One's newly built 203-bed student accommodation, Aquila Court.

The 203-bed student complex, set in the city's heart, offers high-end standard living with modern facilities, including a gym, entertainment room, dedicated study workstations and bespoke design internal and external communal areas.

Located on the site of the former Pickfords warehouse on Lower Bristol Road in Bath, the project for Aquila Court involved the redevelopment of the former warehouse into two, four and five-storey accommodation blocks.
